Greening is one of the things that must be done in every Islamic Boarding School. Greening aims to improve the quality of the surrounding environment in the Islamic Boarding School. The greening step is an effort to plant trees and plants in a place that is considered to be the growth and development of these plants. Greening movement education can be started from an educational environment including boarding schools such as planting trees in the environment around the boarding school. Greening programs can also be applied in boarding schools by students. In addition, greening is useful for improving a beautiful, harmonious, sustainable environment, as well as for implementing environmentally sound development. This greening movement is also beneficial for learning because it trains students to care about the Islamic boarding school environment by creating a green, comfortable, and healthy environment.

This innovation activity carried out at the Darul Hikmah al-Hasini Islamic Boarding School aims to utilize the existing natural potential for water conservation and carry out the development of Islamic Boarding Schools based on water conservation with community involvement in these greening activities. In the masterplan design conducted by the UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang team, the natural potential that exists in the cottage area, in the form of water sources, will be optimally utilized for fish farming and drinking water processing. Water conservation is the center of attention that will be used as a focus in designing. The spring area is processed to be more beautiful without destroying the existing nature. In addition, an area for water conservation is also prepared in the form of a fish pond and drinking water treatment center. From this design, the potential of water sources will not be wasted as it is today.
