Malang - The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang officially opened the Student Competitive Research program (RKM) for 2026. This program aims to improve the quality of student research and encourage scientific publications in nationally accredited journals. The socialization of activities was held on February 27, 2026 at the North Audiorium, 4th floor, marking the start of this year's RKM activity series. Registration and collection of proposals took place from February 28 to April 3, 2026 in each study program. “RKM participants are teams/groups of 3 people,” said one of the terms and conditions stated in the official faculty document.
The main terms and conditions are as follows;
- Participants are students of FST UIN Malang, with the chief researcher at least in semester 6 (S1) or semester 4 (Engineering Study Program), and starting semester 1 (S2);
- The research team consists of 3 people;
- Participants have not received FST research assistance in the previous year;
- Proposal and report formats can be accessed through the faculty website at science and technology.uin-malang.ac.id
- Funding recipients are required to submit research results to nationally accredited journals (Sinta 4 for S1, Sinta 2 for S2);
- Must match applicable technical guidelines.

A representative of the RKM committee stated, “We hope this program can motivate students to produce quality and highly competitive research.” He also added that the implementation of effective research will be carried out for approximately three months.
