FST UIN Maliki Malang - (08/12/2025) Two students of the Faculty of Science and Technology made achievements at the international level after winning the Bronze Prize at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2025. The competition took place on December 3-5, 2025 at COEX Conference Center, Seoul, South Korea, and was attended by hundreds of innovators from various countries.
SIIF is a global exhibition and invention competition that brings together innovations in technology, environment, health, and product development. This year, Fairuz and Raihana participated by presenting a work entitled “UBORO: Rent Anything, Anywhere”, a rental application designed to make it easier for people to borrow and offer goods with a rental system.
UBORO adopts a sharing economy approach, which is considered to reduce the consumption of excess goods and increase the efficiency of utilizing rarely used goods. In their presentation, the two students explained how this platform can help people access needs more flexibly without having to make purchases.
Before competing in Seoul, Fairuz and Raihana went through a long preparation process. They conducted research to map user needs, designed the appearance and features of the application, and conducted trials to ensure the feasibility of the innovation. Challenges also arose during the departure process, especially regarding visa applications which were considered quite strict.
“Alhamdulillah, after going through the process of research, application design, and a series of other preparations, including departure administration, we were finally able to give the best results in the presentation before the jury,” said one of the participants.
Both of them hope that this experience can provide benefits as well as open up insights into innovation standards at the global level. They also encourage other students to participate in international competitions to broaden their academic and professional experience.
This Bronze Prize adds to the list of achievements of Indonesian students in the international arena and shows that innovations that are close to everyday life also have the opportunity to develop and be recognized globally. (Beautiful)
