FST UIN Maliki Malang - (28/10/2025) The Chemistry Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang together with the Chemistry Student Association (HIMASKA) Helium again held the XVth Indonesian Chemistry Olympiad (OKI). This annual event was attended by dozens of students from high schools and Madrasah Aliyah throughout Java and Bali.
The preliminary round was held on October 11, 2025 and was attended by 88 participants from various schools, including SMA Global Mandiri Jakarta, SMA Taruna Nusantara, SMA Pribadi Bandung, as well as a number of Madrasah Aliyah such as MAN 1 Jombang, MAN 2 Malang City, and MAN Insan Cendekia Pasuruan. From this round, the best participants advanced to the semifinals and finals which took place a day later, October 12, 2025.
The event culminated on Sunday, October 26, 2025, with the announcement of the winners and a seminar titled “Beyond the Classroom: Chemistry in Real Life and Future Careers.” This seminar presented Vioreta Aprilia Pramitania, an alumni of UIN Malang's Chemistry Study Program who received the Global Korea Scholarship 2024 at Gyeongsang National University, South Korea.
The final result placed Rameyza Elya Salsabila from MAN 2 Malang City as the first winner and entitled to a prize of Rp 3 million. Ahmad Izzuddin Ilyas from MAN 1 Jombang won second place with a prize of Rp 2 million, while Cinta Imani Danib from MAN Kota Blitar took third place with a prize of Rp 1 million. In addition, the honorable mentions went to participants from SMAN 1 Pule Trenggalek and MAN 2 Malang City.
The Head of the Chemistry Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants and hoped that this activity could strengthen the spirit of learning and foster the love of the younger generation for chemistry. “Through competitions such as OKI XV, we want to provide space for students to excel and hone their scientific and competitive thinking skills,” he said.
The Indonesian Chemistry Olympiad (OKI) is a routine agenda of the Chemistry Study Program of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang which aims to attract superior seeds in the field of science and introduce the world of chemistry as a challenging and relevant field of study for the future.
