FST UIN Maliki Malang - (17/10/2025) Forum Silaturahmi Akademisi Saintek (FORSIASA) Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang again organized scientific activities as a form of commitment in strengthening ukhuwah between academicians. This activity raised the theme Where Pork Fat is Spreading Around Us and How to Recognize It. This activity took place in the Auditorium of the Baharuddin Jusuf Habibie Building and was attended by the entire academic community of FST UIN Malang.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Agus Mulyono, expressed his appreciation for the organization of this activity. He emphasized that FORSIASA has an important role in building a scientific culture based on spiritual and moral values. "Activities like this are very important to foster scientific and ethical awareness among academics. FORSIASA is a strategic space to strengthen collaboration and actualize Islamic values in science development," said Agus.

Two expert speakers were presented at the forum, Dr. Diana Candra Dewi, M.Si. and Oky Bagas Prasetyo, M.Pd.I., who delivered material from a scientific perspective and Islamic values. This discussion reviewed in depth the potential spread of lard in various food products as well as scientific methods to accurately recognize it. There are 7 (seven) other names for Pork fat that are often found in some products, including; Salo, Lard, Lardo, Lardon, Caul fat, Leaf fat, and Back fat. The participants showed high enthusiasm during the activity. Interactive question and answer sessions allowed for a cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas and enriched the scientific horizons of the academics.

Through this activity, FORSIASA is expected to continue to be a collaborative forum that integrates science, spirituality, and innovation. The Faculty of Science and Technology is committed to continuing to support academic activities that encourage the advancement of science while strengthening Islamic character in every step of science development.
