Coordination Meeting of Faculty and Study Program Web Management within the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Malang

FST-UIN Malang (06/04/2023) In an effort to provide optimal information services to the internal and external communities of the Faculty of Science and Technology, a coordination meeting for the management of the Faculty and Study Programs within the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Malang was held. The meeting started at 09.00 WIB 11.30 located in the Conference Room of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The coordination meeting was chaired directly by the Deputy Dean for AUPK Mrs. Dr. Hj. Akyunul Jannah, M.Si and attended by each representative of the web manager from the faculty and study program.

 

The meeting began with a description of the development of the existing website and a mapping of what needs to be added or revised. In addition, questions and answers were also asked regarding various problems in its management that have been experienced so far. Also described by Mr. Johan Ericka Wahyu Prakasa, M.Kom as the coordinator of the information system of the Faculty of Science and Technology related to alternative solutions to solve some of the problems described which outline that in the management of the study program web as much as possible must be synchronized with what is with the faculty because all are one unit, especially related to SK documents and so on.

This coordination meeting resulted in several agreements, including the formulation of standards that must exist in both the faculty website and each study program including profiles, information related to lecturers and staff, display colors (templates) typical of each study program, mapping of existing facilities and infrastructure, surveys that are centralized in UPM and decree documents that are centralized in the faculty so that there is not much duplication of data. In addition to this, there are also several inputs related to the decree of the web manager which also includes a decree regarding the person responsible for managing social media because this is also closely related to how the face of academic information within the Faculty of Science and Technology looks.

"The website is a reflection of our face when accessed by internal and general public, so it is very important for us to manage it as well as possible because it is also our promotional media, what's more the faculty of science and technology has a specialty in the form of various laboratory facilities which of course we need to display" said Mrs. Dr. Hj. Akyunul Jannah, M.Si as deputy Dean of AUPK.

Regarding the issue of data security, it is also expressed by Mr. Johan Ericka Wahyu Prakasa, M.Kom, for the level of security as much as possible important documents are stored through the drive of each study program. So far, several times the server in the campus environment has been down, finally many documents that have been uploaded to the web are lost because most of them have not been backed up in the form of storage, one solution is that we can utilize storage through media drives which later we can link the url address on the website portal, he said. It is hoped that the results of this coordination will be implemented in web management both at the faculty and study program levels, and later coordination will continue on an ongoing basis.
