UIN Malang's Electrical Engineering National Webinar Discusses Research and Innovation in the Digital Age

FST UIN Maliki Malang - (18/10/2025) The Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a National Webinar entitled “Exploration of Electrical Engineering Research and Innovation in the Digital Age”. The activity which took place online through Zoom Meeting was attended by around 100 participants consisting of lecturers, education staff, and Electrical Engineering students.

In his opening remarks, the Head of the Electrical Engineering Study Program emphasized that the rapid development of digital technology requires the world of education to continue to adapt. The integration of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and intelligent control systems is now an important part of research and development in electrical engineering. “Universities must be able to become the center of relevant and competitive innovations,” he said.

The webinar presented Dr. Fardani Annisa Damastuti, S.ST., MT, lecturer and researcher from Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS) as the main speaker. In her presentation, Fardani discussed future research directions in the fields of electricity and electronics, including opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration to address modern industrial challenges such as energy efficiency and sustainability.

For more than two hours, participants actively followed the material presentation, ranging from the development of digital technology to the implementation of innovation in the industrial world. The discussion session was dynamic, characterized by the enthusiasm of the participants in asking questions about research topics and opportunities for implementing new technologies.

The activity was closed with a reflection that emphasized the importance of collaboration between academics and industry to produce applicable research in the field of electrical engineering. The committee hopes that this kind of webinar can become a sustainable agenda and open up wider opportunities for cooperation with other universities and industrial partners.
