Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in the Conference Room of the Faculty of Science and Technology BJ Habibie Building UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Geophysical Station Class II of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Pasuruan District and FST UIN Malang.

The agreed cooperation agreement covers the fields of education, research, and community service. The ceremonial signing of the cooperation between the two institutions began with an academic dialogue from BMKG Pasuruan, namely; Mr. Djati Cipto Kuncoro, Suwarto and Rozikan, while from FST UIN Malang, Dr. Sri Harini (Dean), Dr. Dwi Suheriyanto (Vice Dean III), Akyunul Jannah, M.Si (Vice Dean II) along with the Head of Study Program and staff from Mathematics, Physics and Informatics Engineering Study Programs.

Academic discussions related to the potential of research on earthquakes, tsunamis, and renewable energy based on lightning power are very interesting topics, especially when the research is developed with various Big data-based modeling instruments, which are expected to be able to answer research challenges in the world of geophysics-informatics in an integrated manner.

The cooperation between the two parties is expected to have a positive impact on the academic development of both institutions for the benefit of the people and the nation (MA).
