Malang - The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang conducted an academic visit to Pondok Pesantren Darul Faqih Malang (16/10). The group consisted of lecturers from across study programs, namely Physics, Chemistry, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. This activity is part of the follow-up of the university's priority program in the field of pesantren mentoring as an effort to strengthen UIN Maliki's role in community service.

The visit was welcomed by the leadership and management of the pesantren. In a warm and familial atmosphere, both parties discussed opportunities for strategic collaboration between the academic world and the pesantren environment. The FST lecturers expressed their commitment to present service activities that are not only educational, but also applicable and sustainable.

Some of the topics that were discussed included the design of eco-sanctuary pesantren, waste and clean water management, environmentally friendly building design, and alternative energy utilization. Through a multidisciplinary approach, FST UIN Maliki hopes to help pesantrens develop a clean, healthy, and ecologically sound environment, in line with the values of the pesantren. eco-theology which the university focuses on.

In addition, the Darul Faqih pesantren also conveyed a number of needs and challenges faced in managing the environment and supporting facilities for santri activities. The lecturers responded with various solution ideas that will be outlined in an integrated community service plan between students and lecturers from various study programs under FST.

Through this visit, it is hoped that there will be long-term cooperation between UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and Darul Faqih Islamic Boarding School. The synergy between science and pesantren values is believed to give birth to a service program that not only strengthens the capacity of the pesantren environment, but also becomes a model of campus-pesantren collaboration in building an empowered and sustainable society.
