FST-UIN Malang (15/8/2023) In preparation for international accreditation, the Faculty of Science and Technology continues to improve, one of which in this case is the improvement of standardized laboratory services. In an effort to achieve quality standards in laboratory services as a learning and research resource center, namely by conducting accreditation. The laboratory of the Faculty of Science and Technology in this case is directed to be able to obtain international standards based on ISO: 17025.

Activities in the framework of initial preparation are carried out briefings related to how, and what must be done to get to the ISO standard international accreditation. This briefing activity invited one of the experts, Prof. Riyanto S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D.. The activity was carried out in a virtual meeting (Zoom Meeting) with the participants of the Faculty leadership and the heads and managers of the Laboratories of the Faculty of Science and Technology.

The briefing material discussed the preparations that can be made, such as preparing policies in the laboratory supported by SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), adequate equipment, management resources and technical matters related to the services provided therein. In addition to this, a complete structure is also needed in one faculty that houses these laboratories, in this case it will also be related to coordination gars related to laboratory services as a center for learning and research resources. On this occasion Prof. Riyanto S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D. as the speaker also told how experiences related to laboratory accreditation assessment with the hope that laboratories that will actually apply for accreditation can prepare as well as possible. This activity is highly appreciated and fully supported by the leadership. The future agenda is to map which laboratories are in progress to be submitted for international accreditation. (Niz)
