Malang-Lively grand final National Scientific Essay Competition (NSEC) 2025 at UIN Malang campus, attended by hundreds of participants from various campus institutions in Indonesia (15/9) with the theme "Technology Innovation to Support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030."
Rangga Dwi Prayoga, a student of Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang made it to the final round with an essay entitled "TIOSUN: TiO₂-Palm Oil-based Photocatalyst as an Appropriate Technology Innovation in Textile Dye Waste Treatment to Support SDG's 2030." This essay discusses technological innovations that have the potential to reduce textile waste in an environmentally friendly manner by utilizing local materials.
"I am very grateful and proud to represent UIN Malang in this competition. Hopefully this innovation can make a real contribution to the environment and the world of appropriate technology," said Rangga.
After passing the script selection and presentation stages in front of the jury, Rangga was named the 3rd place winner, confirming his achievements at the national level. This achievement is an inspiration for all students, especially in the field of science and technology, to continue to work and innovate for the progress of the nation.
"We, the entire leadership of the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Maliki Malang, would like to express our deepest appreciation and pride to Rangga for his brilliant achievement as the 3rd winner of the National Scientific Essay Competition at the National level," said Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Akyunul Jannah. Still according to Akyun, this achievement is not only a proof of the academic ability, creativity, and hard work of students, but also a reflection of the fighting spirit and dedication to make the faculty and university proud.
He hopes that this success can inspire other students to continue to excel, both in academic and non-academic fields. "The faculty will always provide full support for the development of students' interests, talents, and potentials so that they can continue to contribute positively to society and the nation," he said.
